__ Cover Letter
- This letter should be addressed to the Black Box Staff and should tell why you think that your show would be a good addition to Short Plays.  Avoid "me centered" reasons.
__ Script - The exact script that will be performed. Include all edits that will be in final performance.
__ Sample Rehearsal Calendar - This needs to include dates for auditions, and ALL rehearsals Make sure that you are realistic with how many rehearsals you plan to have.
__ Character Descriptions - A list of ALL characters and their physical descriptions
__ Casting Possibilities - For each character, list two or three people that you think could be cast as the part.
__ Prop List - A list of all props that will be needed for your show.
__ Costume Requirements - A list of every character and all the costumes they will wear in the course of the play.
__ Lighting Requirements - a description of what kind of lighting your show will need including specials.
__ Set Requirements - A list of ALL set pieces that you will need for your show.  Keep in mind that it has to be able to be moved in and out of the Black Box.
__ Sound Requirements - A list of all the sound effects/music you will need for your show and where you plan to get them.
__ Makeup Requirements - A list of each character and what they need for makeup.
__ Staff Requirements - Every show must have a Stage Manager.  By the time you hand in your proposal, you need to have the name of someone who agreed to stage manage your show.
__ Budget - With the lists of all tech requirements you need to figure out what you will HAVE to buy (can't be borrowed or made) and come up with an estimation of how much all of these things will cost. Also, don't forget that if you didn't write your play, you will have to pay royalties which are about $50 per performance for one-act plays.
__ EXACT reading time - This is extremely important.  You must get the reading time, by reading the entire play OUT LOUD. NO ESTIMATES!!! While all plays will be considered, plays that are over 40 minutes are not favorable.
__ Special Requirements/Miscellaneous - Please list anything you think might be a problem or any other comments you have.
