Re: Arena Stage field trip series  2007-08

Once again, we have been invited to participate in the exciting series of matinee performances at Arena Stage, one of America's finest professional theatre companies.  Each performance is followed by a discussion with members of the cast and crew.  Students leave school at 11am (after the second block) and return about 4:30pm. Transportation is by private car, so we'll need drivers, too (gotta van?? Chaperone tickets are free!).

The series costs $80for the four plays -- an excellent value -- and may be paid in full or one play ahead of time (reserve your seat for $20, then another $20 due before Oct. 4, etc.). It is NOT possible to pay for some plays but not others--your commitment must be for the whole $80 series. Tickets on May 30th may not be used then if the date conflicts with your AP/IB/SOL testing. However, unused tickets are good for standing room at other performances of the same show.

These are the plays we'll attend this year:

Tues., Oct. 9   "Well" (late departure/return)
Wed., Dec. 12   "Christmas Carol 1941"
Wed., April 15  "Death of a Salesman"
Wed., May 28  "Mystery of Irma Vep”

I sincerely hope that the entire TA2 and Advanced Theatre classes will be able to take advantage of this opportunity.  It has always been a real highlight of the year to see seasoned professionals work in such an exciting space on excellent plays.

To guarantee your space (only 50 seats are available, including chaperones), please bring in a check for $80 (or, if you must, $20), made payable to ROBINSON SECONDARY SCHOOL as soon as possible, and no later than Sept.15.

We also need some help with
chaperones, since we must have one chaperone for every ten students.  Anyone interested (if buses are unavailable, we may ask you to drive, too, but your ticket is free!)?
Just let me know in writing as soon as possible (incl how many seatbelts will be available for kids).

REQUIRED: Parent Permission form for field trip series.  Permission to travel by private car.
REQUIRED of drivers:
FCPS driver/Insurance form
